SPILLSTOP™ Complete Spill Containment
Prevent Product Loss and Hazardous Spills

The fully pneumatic SPILLSTOP system for AODD pumps safely captures leaked product and automatically shuts down failed pumps in instances where diaphragm failure is unacceptable and potentially dangerous. Optional warning alarm and backup pump switchover further minimize system downtime for maximum productivity.

PREVENT PRODUCT LOSS AND HAZARDOUS SPILLS

The SPILLSTOP attaches directly to the air exhaust of an AODD pump. When a diaphragm fails, the leaked process fluid is captured in an internal receptacle within the SPILLSTOP unit. As the fluid level rises, a float inside the unit is lifted, which triggers a pneumatic actuator. This actuator immediately shuts off the air supply to the pump, stopping it from operating and preventing any further leakage.

PRIMARY LEAK CONTAINMENT & SPILL CONTROL

As anyone familiar with the function of an AODD pump can attest, pump diaphragms will fail. When they do, process fluid is expelled through the pump’s air exhaust port, spilling into the environment. Spills can result in significant expense due to lost product, hazardous material cleanup, EPA reporting, and system downtime. More importantly, spills resulting from pump diaphragm failure put employees at risk of serious injury.

The SPILLSTOP can be equipped with an optional warning alarm whistle, pneumatic-to-electric switch to power warning lights or connect to a SCADA panel, and additional pump shutoff valves for multiple pumps, high suction tank applications, and/or backup pump startup.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

TOTAL CONTAINMENT: Designed to capture an entire spill, preventing any fluid from reaching the surrounding environment. This is crucial for hazardous, corrosive, or flammable fluids.

AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN: The pneumatic shutoff mechanism stops the pump immediately upon detecting a leak, preventing a small failure from becoming a major, costly, and dangerous spill.

ALARMS & AUTOMATION: Can be equipped with optional features like an auditory whistle, a pneumatic-to-electric switch for a warning light or SCADA system, and even an automatic switchover to a backup pump.

COST SAVINGS: By preventing a single major spill, the system can more than pay for itself by avoiding the costs of lost product, cleanup, downtime, and potential fines from regulatory bodies.

SAFETY: Key safety device for protecting personnel from exposure to dangerous chemicals.

CAN YOU AFFORD NOT TO HAVE IT?

Unmonitored spills are very expensive considering the costs of product loss, system downtime, hazardous cleanup, and EPA reporting. By preventing a single spill, SPILLSTOP will more than pay for itself in product savings alone.

For example, a 3,000 gallon spill was prevented after SPILLSTOP units were installed by a major paint manufacturer on all AODD pumps in their transfer facility. Furthermore, SPILLSTOP prevented multiple spills when pump diaphragms ruptured at a US chemical plant, saving $20,000 to $100,000 per spill in hazardous waste cleanup costs.
